Beacon of Hope
There is a need for therapeutic and humane healthcare for people who live with mental illness and/or who are living with addiction in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Currently, there is a drug epidemic that is killing the youth of Sierra Leone. This drug is named "Kush" or the Zombie Drug" and uses decomposed human bones to create a cocktail of a drug that is said to be more dangerous than heroine and cocaine. The rate of youth ages 18-25 is continuously growing over the years as the unemployment and poverty rates increase. The drug is very cheap and easily accessible. Our goal is to raise money to provide a residential treatment facility with the help of our Sierra Leone partners and assist the people who are addicted to this drug with recovery, vocational skills, employment, and positive community engagement. We need your help to provide safe spaces for people to get the help they so desperately need.
